Gertrude is a female Toy Poodle approximately 11 years old. She is itty bitty, weighing only 7 pounds full grown. Gertrude has a soft, curly gray/blue coat and a tiny black button nose. She almost resembles a stuffed animal with how round and puffy she is. She is wonderfully snuggly and cuddly. Gertrude is non-shedding and has been professionally groomed. She is housebroken and will bark at the door to go outside and do her business. Gertrude is a very easy keeper and has excellent behavior inside the home. She is never any trouble and is wonderful company. Gertrude is still quite feisty for her age and can hold her own with other dogs both big and small. She rules the roost and makes sure that everyone behaves appropriately, just like your favorite rule abiding gramma! Gertrude loves being outside in the backyard and will poke around contentedly for long periods of time, smelling all the smells and just hanging out. When she is ready to go back inside she will bark at the door to let you know its time to go in. Gertrude is a smart girl and knows how to communicate with her humans. She adores treats and is always up for a tasty snack, although she will get a little round and chubby if fed too many tasty morsels. Its hard to resist, however, since she is so cute! Gertrude is snuggly and will cuddle up by your side in a chair if you like, or she is just as happy to stretch out on the floor nearby if you have things to do. She is good with children, but they should be gentle because she is very small. Gertrude is a good eater and not picky at all. She likes short walks through the neighborhood and can be surprisingly fast on leash. She definitely has her own mind and is adorably determined. Gertrude was rescued from a very high-volume/high-kill shelter where she was brought in stray. She has wobbly hips due to her age, although the vet specialist says there is nothing to be done and Gertrude gets around just fine. She is a wonderful little dog and deserving of an equally wonderful home in her golden years. A more simple and easy to care for dog than Gertrude will be hard to find. Gertrude is ready for her new forever home today!
Gertrude’s adoption donation is $275 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). She has been SPAYED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is her collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of her records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.
Gertrude is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteer, Carol and is ready for her forever home.
