Drake's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Drake's Story...
Drake, like this Canadian rap superstar namesake, is quite the hit with the ladies. A handsome, medium-sized shepherd/pit bull, Drake is an affectionate, tolerant, happy-go-lucky dog who only needs one warm look and a goofy smile to make the dames fall over him! Drake was found by some concerned citizens running loose in the woods. He was never reclaimed, but someone else's loss might be your gain! Drake is about 3 years old, and he's got all those adult dog behaviors on lock - he's housetrained, active but mellows out, and friendly with people big and small. He's a very vocal player, so it takes a bit of getting used to when he whines and growls while tossing his toy around. It's all talk, though - Drake wants nothing more than to have a human buddy to play with! He is not comfortable with other dogs and cats, likely from not being introduced to them when he was a puppy. Drake will always have to be a solo dog, but his good temper and playful spirit are more than enough love for the right family with children of all ages. He'd prefer an experienced home where he can get some training and leadership.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Drake, a Oak Park Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Oak Park, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Oak Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
