Violet is a calm, lower energy, more petite girl and a gentle soul who loves being right next to her person. (Although she is slowly coming out of her shell and showing how happy she can truly be. Especially around meal times!) She has an infectious smile and her entire body wiggles when she is happy to see you! She likes to leisurely investigate new sights and sounds and enjoys long walks. Violet walks beautifully on leash and is living in a home with 3 cats and 2 children. She barely notices the kitties! Violet seems to do well with other, friendly dogs that do not invade her space. (Proper intros are always a must!) While at the shelter, she was always interested in dogs in the other play yards, however did not feel the need to engage with them. Violet is still somewhat shy after coming out of the stressful shelter environment and would appreciate time and patience when meeting new people, dogs and being in new places. She is getting used to car rides too! Violet is affectionate and would do best with a family who can help her build her confidence and give her the love and attention she so deserves. Violet is nighttime crate trained and sleeps quietly in her foster parent's room. Violet is housetrained and really enjoys being a total couch potato in her bed most of the day when not out walking or rolling in the grass. She loves to show off her "sit" and "shake" commands for you! If you're interested in adopting Violet, please email her foster mommy Fern at

About Tri-Valley Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Tri-Valley Animal Rescue (TVAR) was founded in 1992 and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving the East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area). We primarily support the East County Animal Shelter (ECAS) in Dublin, CA to help owners locate their missing pets and to assist people selecting a pet to adopt. Tri-Valley Animal Rescue also places animals from ECAS and other area shelters in foster care in the homes of TVAR volunteers while trying to find them permanent homes. Although we do not have a facility of our own, we help over 1000 animals find forever homes yearly through the hard work and dedication of our volunteers.

We have a variety of volunteer programs including a shelter program and four foster programs. We are always looking for more volunteers - especially fosters. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please check out our volunteer page ( for information.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Dog adoptions take place at the Pleasanton Farmers Market, at the park on the corner of First and Angela streets, every Saturday morning from 10am to 1pm. If it's raining, we hold our adoption event at Murphy's Paw, 410 Main St., Pleasanton. We also have weekly dog adoptions in front of the Dublin PetSmart from 10am to 2pm on Sundays. All of our adoptable dogs (and selected ECAS dogs) are available on our website and on

Adult cats are on display in the cat cages at the Dublin PetSmart and are adoptable by appointment. All of our adoptable adult cats (and selected ECAS cats) are available on our website and on

Kitten adoptions take place every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4pm at the Dublin PetSmart, pending availability. During kitten season (March to November), we have way more kittens than we could ever hope to post online, so come on out to see our selection.

All of our adoptable animals can also be met/adopted by appointment made directly with the foster volunteers.

Our Adoption Process...

Please browse our adoptable animals. We make every effort to keep our listings updated, so if an animal shows up, there is an 80-90% chance that it is likely still available for adoption.

Each of our animals has contact information in the description - either referencing the phone number of the East County Animal Shelter (ECAS), or the email/phone of the volunteer who is fostering the animal. If you have questions, please use the contact information in the description directly. Emails sent to are answered, but the Webmaster doesn't know the animals personally and will just forward your request to the contact source in the animal's description.

If an animal is at ECAS, they have their own adoption process. Please go to ECAS (they are open daily 11:30am to 5:30pm except holidays) to meet the animal and learn about ECAS's adoption process. If an animal is in foster with TVAR, please fill out an adoption application (availabe here: and send it to the foster person listed in the animal's description. We consider each application and pick the best one for the animal in question. In general, we do not do out of area adoptions.

All TVAR animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, de-wormed, flea-free, and microchipped. Felines are FIV/FeLV tested. Many of our pets also come with a "packed bag" that can include a variety of goodies like bedding, food, toys, leashes, and even private training sessions with our professional trainers. Adoption fees vary by species. Our fee range is $75-200. Dogs and puppies are also subject to a $100 refundable training deposit. The foster volunteer can provide specifics for the animals in their care.
