Chance's Story...
What a darling boy! Chance is a 5 1/2 month old Long-hair Dachshund mix ready for a new leash on life! He was brought to the shelter after being found as a stray, and unfortunately he was never reunited with his previous owners. He is not a miniature, but closer to the standard size Dachshund. He is shy at first, but opens up quickly. He really likes other dogs, and would LOVE to have a buddy to play with in his new home. We haven't had him very long, but he has done pretty well with his house-training. He is still young and will need some reminders in his new home. He is current on his vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He will stay to be neutered once he is adopted. Come and meet him today at our Waggin' Tails Adoption Center in Benbrook. We are open daily from 12-6pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chance, a Benbrook Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Benbrook, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Benbrook.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Benbrook already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Benbrook breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Benbrook paves the way for another one to be saved.
