Layla's Story...
Layla is a sweet little freckle-faced girl. Layla weighs about a whole 7 pounds and is about 2 years old. We think Whe might be a....wait for it.....a Rat Terrier/Hound (Italian Greyhound/Beagle/Dachshund) mix!) Whaaaaat?!!!! She is very affectionate, and would like to have a person who enjoys holding and carrying her. Layla gets along well with other small dogs, and will occasionally play, when she isn't cuddling. Layla does get chilly, and appreciates sweaters and warm blankets. If you would like to make Layla part of your family, please complete an online application at www.lapdogrescue.org and be sure to include her name at the top.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Layla, a Tijeras Rat Terrier/Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier/Greyhound for sale in Tijeras, or seeking a Rat Terrier/Greyhound dog from a breeder in Tijeras.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tijeras already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tijeras breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier/Greyhound breeders who help with Rat Terrier/Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tijeras paves the way for another one to be saved.
