Meet Pippin! Pippin is a 7 year old, 15 lb chihuahua mix. He actually looks like he might be mixed with Boston terrier with his white markings. Pippin can be the most affectionate boy ever. He is a true lap dog and will stay there all day if you let him. He follows his foster mom everywhere and will surely do the same for his new owners. He doesn't seem to have interest in cats, although there are no cats in the foster home. He does take a while to warm up to strangers and can be quite protective of his people. He doesn't have a lot of tolerance for kids and quick movements, so a quiet adult household would be best. He's good on a leash and enjoys short walks with lots of stops for sniffing. If you're looking for a sweet couch potato, Pippen is your pup!
Our boy Pippin is prone to bladder stone and at his last check they have dissolved, If he gets them again he will need Potassium Citrate to break down the stones. Follow up Urine tests & possible X-rays are needed. He also has Renal (Kidney) insufficiency and will need to remain on a special diet of prescription K/D dog food. Not a big deal, he's TOTALLY worth it!
Pippin is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations. His adoption fee is $250.
All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.
We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.
All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.
Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
