Tess's Story...
Teenie tiny Tess found her way to Maricopa County Animal Care and Control as a stray and this little girl was a hot mess.

Tess is a 9 year old black and white chihuahua that was covered in dirt at MCACC. The poor girl looks to have an old injury to her front left leg and a healing puncture wound to her side. Once back at the sanctuary this sweetheart has quite the personality. She loves other dogs, loves people and if you stop petting her she will give you an encouraging lick or two so you won't forget about her. Tess is a happy camper just following you around and it's adorable. She can't weigh more than 5 lbs. max but lights up a room with her happy dancing and prancing.

Do you have room in your heart and home for Tess?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tess, a Scottsdale Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Scottsdale, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Scottsdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scottsdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scottsdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scottsdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
