Dory's Story...
Hi I am Dory! I am year old dachshund mix. I am a complete snuggler lap dog. I was abandoned by my family when they moved out but that has done nothing to damper my sweet spirit. I immediately gave my foster mom kisses and love from the minute I met her. Everyone that meets me says what a sweet girl I am. I have certainly come out of my shell at my foster home and love to play with my dog foster brothers! We play with toys, balls and chase is another of our favorite games. We are working on potty training so I will need someone who is able to keep up the consistency with me. Adoption fee is $225 it includes spay, annual vaccinations, rabies license, microchip, dewormer, heart worm preventative for the month, vet exam. Please go to our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/barkandroll under the 3rd tab (my form) for an adoption application. And follow us on Facebook at that link and instagram/twitter @barkandrollrc to see any new dogs/puppies that come into our rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dory, a Baton Rouge Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
