Legend's Story...
This adorable little girl is Legend, a 12 week old kitten that is dreaming of a fabulous home of her own. Legend may not be a very girly name, but it's what the street kids called this tiny kitten that they saw roaming about town, eluding our Animal Control Officer, Maria, that was trying to bring her to safety. Legend was in foster care since she was 3 weeks old but she accidentally got outside one day and sent Maria on a mad search for the fragile kitten. Neighborhood kids kept spotting her and finally Maria decided to raise money for a reward to get the kids that help her find Legend. Maria is the real legend here because, as always, she never gave up until she finally had Legend safely in her arms. The adventurous little girl is with us now and is happy, healthy, and ready to start life over again. Legend is just a giant purr in a small kittens body. As soon as she sees you, the purring begins. She's a little cautious in new situations but if she trusts you, then she trusts the situation and will relax, let her hair down, and play and roll around till there's no tomorrow. She loves people and gets along fine with other cats too. She met Maria's dog and got a little poofy in the tail, but wouldn't mind a dog that didn't cause her any grief. If you can give her the safe, loving home that she deserves, come in and meet the lovable Legend. File#26208 5/9/16

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Legend, a Forked River Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
