Thelma and Louise (also available) grew up on the busy streets fighting for survival and counting on the kindness of strangers to feed them. Louise would stop traffic and stand in the road to wait for Thelma to cross. After a year and a half, they were finally caught.
Although we would like to find to find them a home together, we are willing to separate them as long as the adoptive home has other dogs that will be their companion.
They have flourished and are now happy, and very loving girls. They walk well on leash and are house and crate trained. They will need to be inside only and walked on leashes as they were feral and have a strong flight instinct. These 'Manhattan Girls' have been great office dogs while here at the shelter.
Louise likes to play with other dogs and will lather you in kisses. She is more outgoing and energetic. Thelma loves to be around humans and craves being petted. She is more relaxed and mellow and not as playful.
They have been at the shelter for many months now and we would like to place them in a foster home. If you are interested in fostering, please email JPASfosterEB@gmail.com.
The Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter adoption fee is $67. The adoption fee includes vaccinations, mandatory spay/neuter, heartworm test, and microchip.
To find if this dog is still available for adoption, please stop by the shelter. Please provide the ID number at that time.
