Sleeman – male, vaccinated to date, vet checked, dewormed, 10wks, Beagle/Basset.
Sleeman was born in a 4 Legged Love foster home after his mom was rescued from a shelter. He was born June 13th/08 so he is a little over 10 weeks old now. We expect Sleeman to be about 35lbs when full grown. He will likely be a little longer legged like a Beagle but have a slightly longer body like a Basset and big huge ears like a Basset. He is doing very well and has been socialized with many people, other dogs and cats, he is fine with respectful children of any age. He is working on his house training, he is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night and when left alone. Sleeman is absolutely adorable, his ears dip in his food and water dishes when he eats/drinks; he loves to play with toys and playing with his mom and the other ‘big dogs’, he loves attention from people too. Sleeman learns quickly and loves praise; he would likely do well at an obedience class and although food incentives usually help training your Hound, at this point Sleeman loves praise and attention to let him know he’s a good boy. Ideally Sleeman’s new family will take him to obedience lessons so he can bond with is family and everyone can learn basic commands together. Sleeman would be good as the only pup in the home or as a companion for another young, active dog. Sleeman will need a house with a fully fenced yard.
Knowledge of the Beagle and Basset breeds is a must for this pet. Research before you apply! Beagle - http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/beagle.htm and Basset Hound - http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/bassethound.htm
