Facts about Atlas - Sweet Deaf Boy

  • Breed: Great Dane/Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: White - With Black
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Meet Atlas! Being born deaf has not stopped Atlas, this 1.5 year old Dane-Pit mix from being playful and happy-go-lucky. He is quite a smart boy, being already crate-trained and potty-trained at nine months of age. We think he will grow up to be about 85 lbs. He is tall and lean for his weight like a Dane, and has short, soft white fur with a big black patch on his eye.

Atlas will need someone in his new life that will be home a lot of the time or with whom he can go to work, and he will definitely need a nice yard with a secure fence. He may do better with older children due to his size and exuberance. He has been good with cats in his foster home and has been friendly with the other dogs he's met and played with. Atlas is crate trained, housebroken, rides pretty well in the car, and is just starting his leash handling but is learning fast.

Celine's adoption fee is $350 and includes her spay, up-to-date basic vaccines, up-to-date rabies vaccine, microchip, and health certificate. Even though the rescue is located in Eastern Washington, we are looking for a foster or adopter for Atlas in the Seattle area, and he can be transported to an approved adopter. About Red Waggin' Rescue - Kirkland Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Red Waggin' Pet Rescue is a 501(c)3 that grew out of Connell Pet Rescue. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers that do this part-time and unpaid.

The City of Connell is located in Eastern Washington, and since it is a small city, it has no animal control, no proper animal shelter, and no pet rescue services. Red Waggin' Rescue is fully staffed by part-time volunteers to help the City of Connell Police Department rescue, provide vet care for, and find new forever homes for homeless dogs and other animals from Connell, WA and the surrounding areas. Our volunteers and foster homes are active in both Eastern Washington and the Puget Sound areas.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Although there is a small holding area managed by the City of Connell Police Department, Red Waggin' Rescue/Connell Pet Rescue has no permanent shelter facility.

Our animals stay in foster homes while they await their new homes, that are found in Eastern Washington and all the way to the Puget Sound area.

Generally, if an approved adopter is interested in another part of Washington State, transport can be arranged and runs roughly every other weekend.

Our Adoption Process...

Email Connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application form.

If you are interested to make one of our animals your new family member, please email connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an application form, which you may fill out and email back to us.

Please allow a few days for a response, as we are only part-time volunteers. We require a completed application in order to meet a pet.

Once approved, if you meet a pet and all agree it is a good match: a volunteer will do a home visit, you will sign an adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, and begin the approval period. Generally, adoption fees are $250–$350 for dogs and $50–$150 for cats, and include spaying/neutering, basic vaccines, and microchipping, all required by our rescue.

All of our adoptions include a 7-day money-back approval period. After 7 days, a pet must still be returned to our rescue but adoption fees are not refunded.
