Smokey's Story...
Smokey was left on a front lawn with all of his meager belongings. He waited patiently in the same spot for four hours - but his family never returned to for him. Friends of Chicago Animal Care stepped in to save this sad little boy. Smokey is a one and half year old - gorgeous with silky black few and jewel yellow eyes. He is a very sweet, friendly and well behaved little boy who gets along great with all felines.

Smokey is FIV negative - neutered and is current on vaccines. He is currently in foster care near downtown Chicago. If you live in the Chicagoland area, and would like more information, please contact his foster mom at fcacfoster@gmail.com. An application, home visit and fee of $95 to cover his medical costs are required.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smokey, a Chicago Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
