Facts about Sofie

  • Breed: American Shorthair
  • Color: White (Mostly)
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Sophie is a sweet girl with beautiful green, curious eyes and very delightful black and white tuxedo markings. She has always lived indoors and enjoys watching the other animals and birds from the comfort of her favorite window seat.

Sophie is a VERY affectionate cat. She expects a few face rubs as soon as you wake up in the morning and would love a nice rub down when you return home. She loves to be brushed and even likes the occasional belly rub. She loves to lie on your legs or lap and is an overall snuggle queen. Sophie is obedient and will respond to the commands "stop," "sit," and "no" (when she wants to). She’s a little shy around strangers but will warm up to someone pretty quickly.

When it comes to playtime, Sophie enjoys laser lights against a wall, balloon string, feather toys and socks. She also likes to strike a pose for the camera. She definitely knows when she's being photographed.

Sophie will do best as an only cat with a woman or man who works at home or has a flexible schedule. When she's alone she likes to sleep on your shoes or on her scratching post and wait for your return. She loves to be around her human, she likes to listen to stories and would feel safe and pampered in a low-key household.
Sofie is very healthy as she has always lived indoors.

About The Nature Network, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

The Nature Network, Inc., is a non profit 501c3 federal tax exempt organization, publicly supported and existing entirely with the generous help of animal loving people. We rescue dogs, cats, horses, other domestic pets, birds, and wildlife, some on their last day of life from Los Angeles area pounds, and we work with local wildlife rescue organizations to save wildlife and birds (injured or orphaned). We love animals very much, and feel there can never be enough help for all animals in need, or enough loving homes or enough birth control for the domestic ones.

We are currently seeking grants, donors and sponsors to purchase the animal sanctuary and education center we have found for the Nature Network in the Valley area of Los Angeles.

We are preparing to again produce and host a previously award winning television show about the rescue and protection of domestic and wild animals and preservation of natural habitats.

More information to come soon. Our website, is currently under re-design, and will be up and active soon.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Please become a sponsor for one of our special needs animals--dogs, cats, horses, and more, or please help support The Nature Network's rescue work with a tax deductible contribution. We will gladly and promptly provide you with a Nature Network Donation Receipt for your tax deductible donation, upon request. Our Paypal donation address is: In your Paypal Account, click on "personal", and then on "gift" to avoid fees.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoptable pets are boarded at kennels, veterinarians, foster homes and our friends' and family's homes. We sometimes also take part in Best Friends and Animal Planet adoption events. We recommend calling us to discuss your adoption needs. If it sounds like you would be happy and the pet would be happy, we can arrange for everyone to meet.
See our organization's info about our plans to purchase our dream animal sanctuary and humane education center---but not without your help.

Our Adoption Process...

After speaking by telephone, and coming to see our pet (if qualified), we will visit your home. If qualified, we bring our pet for a two week trial period with an application and contract. The adoption donation for dogs is $200-$350, and a $50-$150 adoption donation for cats and other small pets.
