Albert's Story...
My name is Albert, and I love people. I'm an affectionate boy and I LOVE to CUDDLE. I'm an obedient boy and I'm excellent on the leash. I'm a Labrador and Beagle mix, so I'm kind of a medium-small dog, about 45 pounds. I may have a little bit of white on my muzzle, but it's just highlights, not age, as I'm just 4 years old. I've got the most beautiful, soulful eyes. I've lived in a home since I was a 6-week old, but as the family grew to include more children and the house became busier and busier, it was too much activity for me and made me a bit nervous. I'd prefer a home that's more quiet, like me, and not so hustle-bustle. I like people so much, but sometimes little children are just too loud and too fast in their movements, and then I get all nervous again. I can be picky about my dog friends, so I'd much prefer to just stay with you than to head out to the dog park—too active and noisy, and some of those dogs can be awfully bossy, you know. My perfect home would be just you and me and lots of cuddles in front of the TV, the fireplace, on the couch, on my bed....You get the picture.
FOHA only adopts pets like me to the DC Metro/Northern Virginia area.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Albert, a Aldie Retriever (Unknown Type)/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Beagle for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Beagle dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type)/Beagle breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type)/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
