Jasper's Story...
Jasper was surrendered to our veterinarian at the Northeast Veterinary Hospital. His owner just recently passed away and the family couldn’t keep him so he’s here with us now to find his new home. Jasper is a warm, affectionate young boy; curious and gentle, always looking for a good scratching and a lap to snuggle into. He loves to give you “head butts” and will curl around your ankles to show you how much he cares. If you sit long enough, there’s Jasper trying to squirrel his way onto your lap to cuddle. Come on in and spend some time with our boy and get acquainted. You’ll have a hard time saying no to this young man!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jasper, a Salem Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
