Finch's Story...

Phoebe and Finch are 3-month old siblings found under a porch this winter; unfortunately their littermates didn’t survive.  Both are grey & white tabbies, with a hint of fawn, and gold eyes.  Finch is the bolder of the two, takes a dominant position in front of his sister, and starts purring very quickly.  He's in a gawky phase right now, ears are a little too big for his head, but he looks at you with such a sweet look in his eyes that you forget all about his ears.  Phoebe has less white than her brother, and the ears are a little more in proportion.  She's much more shy, but loves to be cuddled.

Phoebe and Finch have been spayed/neutered, are microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and have received age-appropriate shots. If you'd like to apply to adopt either Phoebe or Finch, please stop by our Adoption Center to fill out an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Finch, a Salem Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
