Madeline's Story...

Madeline is a 3 year old long-haired calico female that was finally brought to PALS after one of our rescuers made many attempts to catch her.  She was obviously in a home but abandoned; she’s quite friendly and is a true lap cat!  Madeline is nervous around children and dogs, which is understandable for a cat that spent time outside.  Madeline has been spayed, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is up-to-date on shots.  The adoption fee for Madeline is $150.

If you're interested in adopting Madeline, please stop by our Adoption Center at PetSmart, 10  Trader's Way, Salem, MA on Saturday or Sunday from 11-4.  You may also request an adoption application via email, that you can complete and submit for approval, by sending a message to

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Madeline, a Salem Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Salem, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
