Alvera's Story...

Cleo, Cedric, Andy and Alvera are four of many kittens that were living in a welding shop. They are 12 weeks old and are loving, friendly, cuddly, and playful.  Their foster mom says they were a delight.  Cleo is a beautiful black and white girl with a half-white face and little freckles on her nose - how cute is a kitten with freckles?!  She has green eyes and dainty white gloves.  Cedric and Andy are very handsome black and white tuxedo boys, both with gold eyes and white gloves. Cedric has a white blaze up his nose, and somehow manages to have a black and pink 'sandwich' nose. Andy is a more traditional tuxedo, with short white tufts coming out of his ears - he is shorthair, so the ear tufts are adorable.  Alvera is a little gold-eyed tortie, too cute for words.  She is really sweet and will cuddle right into your neck when you pick her up.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alvera, a Salem Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
