Mayer's Story...

Mayer is a handsome gray 6-year old male that almost looks like a Russian Blue.  Mayer was adopted from PALS as a kitten, along with his brother Oscar, but recently returned because of his owner’s health problems.  Mayer’s foster mom describes him as the perfect cat: mellow, affectionate and playful.  Mayer is neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and is up-to-date on shots.

Mayer is currently in foster care but will be in our Adoption Center at PetSmart, 10 Trader's Way, Salem, MA very soon.  If you're interested in adopting Mayer, you may request an adoption application via email, which you can complete and submit for approval, by sending a message to adoptions@palsanimallifesavers.com.  Once approved we can set up an appointment to meet Mayer at his foster home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mayer, a Salem Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
