Cody's Story...

Chuck and Cody are "brothers" - not littermates, but they've been together since Cody was a baby. Chuck was 9 months old, Cody just 4 months old, when they were adopted from PALS together.  They've been happy in their home, but one of the humans has become increasingly allergic, so the boys are giving us another try at finding them a forever home together.  Chuck is a medium-haired orange and white boy, very outgoing, a real greeter!  Cody, a handsome tabby, is a bit more finicky about his humans, but it's all a show - he loves attention!  Both cats have been neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and are up-to-date on shots.

If you're interested in adopting a cat or kitten, please stop by our Adoption Center at PetSmart, 10 Trader's Way, Salem, MA on Saturday or Sunday from 11-4.  You may also request an adoption application via email, which you can complete and submit for approval, by sending a message to adoptions@palsanimallifesavers.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cody, a Salem Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
