James's Story...

Jessie and James are 13-week old littermates, found outside with their mama and two other siblings.  Jessie is a pretty snow white with calico colors, and eyes to match.  James is white with some black spots, including a very cute one on his nose.  Both kittens are a bit shy, with James being the more outgoing of the two, but both love to cuddle and with quiet attention, will begin purring.  Both kittens are also very interested in the other kittens in the Adoption Center, so both will do well in homes with other cats.

Jessie and James have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and have received age-appropriate shots (they will need distemper boosters soon).

When you adopt in August, you get valuable coupons for free dry food, and money off wet food, litter, toys, and other supplies you'll need.

If you're interested in adopting a cat or kitten, please stop by our Adoption Center at PetSmart, 10 Trader's Way, Salem, MA on Saturday or Sunday from 11-4.  You may also request an adoption application via email, which you can complete and submit for approval, by sending a message to adoptions@palsanimallifesavers.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

James, a Salem Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
