My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COPPER is a 4 year old Black Mouth Cur who has been surrendered to our pound by his former family because they are moving and leaving him behind after having him since he was 3 months old. He is not neutered and spend most of his life as an outside dog. We were told by the family that he is good with kids as he lived with 3 of them under the age of 10 and tolerated all their rambunctiousness. We were also told that he backs away when hit. We told the family that we don't hit our dogs so that's information that we don't need, but we have to wonder why they know how he would react...all we do know is that COPPER is very frightened at the pound and afraid of sudden movements and sounds. We are going to love him, work with him and give him lots of care and attention so he learns to trust. COPPER is going to need a calm, patient and loving family to teach him that life, with the right family, can be good.
