This poor, special dog has never had a home. He has been a "neighborhood dog" most of his life. People patted him on the head and threw him scraps but he has never had a roof over his head or place to get warm in the winter or cool in the hot summers. One of the neighbors recently brought him to our groomer to get his long coat shaved off because he has been struggling in the heat. Sweet Merlin had a painfully infected mouth full of teeth and was feeling arthritic but when he hit the air conditioned grooming shop he relaxed and slept all day. We basically told them that unless someone in the neighborhood would agree to take ownership of him, get him to the vet and bring him inside, we would notify the humane society and the person that picked him up from the groomer would be cited for animal cruelty. So Merlin is now with us. He has been to the vet and had several teeth pulled and the rest cleaned and has been on antibiotics. He also had a fatty tumor removed because we were not sure what is was. He is doing so much better in the air conditioning with some TLC. Merlin is neutered, UTD on shots and HW negative. He is about 10 years old, weighs 40 lbs. and is almost deaf but his eyes and heart are very good. Merlin just needs a quiet, safe, comfortable and caring home to live out his days and he really deserves it! The fee to get Merlin into his new home would be the traveling expenses only. We will cover his vetting in the hopes of finding him his special place. Please consider this wonderful dog.
