Once she trusts you, Mango thinks your lap is the perfect spot for a nap, especially if you're giving belly rubs!  Because she came from a hoarding situation, she will need an extremely patient guardian who will help her understand the rules in her new home. Mango was a fearful girl, terrified of touch, in the shelter and has blossomed into a happy, playful, talkative pup in her foster home. She does well with calmer, non dominant dogs with a proper introduction. Mango still isn't quite sure what to make of cats. Sometimes she chases them, while other times she ignores them completely. Mango is currently on a special GI diet and will likely require daily allergy medication for the rest of her life. She will probably bond closely with one person in her new home, but with time will accept other family members, including older, respectful children. Mango is doing well on house training, is crate trained, and is learning that toys are fun to play with. While she enjoys leashed walks, a home with a fenced in yard is a must. Mango is treat motivated and a group training class, after she trusts you, would boost her confidence.

She has had a rabies shot, 7way shot, bordetella and been wormed. She is spayed, microchipped and heartworm tested.

Our adoption fee is $130.00 and it helps to cover a portion of the dog's vetting costs. The adoption process includes the completion of an application followed by an interview.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please have a look at our available pups. If you see one you are interested in, contact us to set an appointment OR visit us at the Pet Food Center North on First Avenue in Evansville on Sunday between 11am and 4pm! Our shelter is a privately-owned kennel, therefore it is not open to the public. Viewing of dogs is by appointment only.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process consists of an adoption application followed by an interview. Upon arriving at the shelter, each dog receives a Bordetella shot, DHPPC vaccination and worming. At the veterinarian's office, our dogs receive a rabies vaccination, a spay or neuter surgery, and are tested for heartworm. If a dog tests positive, we treat the dog and then retest to confirm that the treatment was successful. Additionally, our dogs are microchipped before going home with their new family. Adoption fees are $85 and help to cover the cost of vetting.
