This is Tyler (HWTH#16188A). He is a Shar Pei mix, DOB: 5/20/14. Tyler weighs approximately 60 pounds and stands 21 inches at the shoulders. This is a sweet, strong boy who may need just a little time to adjust to his new surroundings. His foster dad feels Tyler has had a rough life and has not been given a lot of affection up to this point. He has learned to like being petted and has also learned to share his "petting time" with other dogs (Tyler is currently residing with 14 other dogs of various ages and sizes). At his foster home, Tyler plays with 2 young female dogs (45-55 lbs.) a lot on a regular basis. His foster dad feels in his new Forever home, it would be better if he were paired with a female approximately his size rather than another male. When Tyler is thoroughly settled in his new environment, he will benefit from positive basic obedience training to help with leash training and the bonding process. So, lots of love, playtime, exercise and good-quality human companionship will be a must for Tyler. He has learned to use a dog door and is house trained. For more information on Tyler, please contact Suzanne at tele # 661-824-4495.

About Halfway to Home

About Our Rescue Group...

Halfway To Home was formed in 2001 due to the need in the Antelope Valley to rescue the many homeless, helpless pets. We have animals from individuals who have to give up pets, and from animal shelters that have darling individuals who need to be spared euthanasia. There are puppies coming from individuals who did not spay and neuter in a timely manner. Your tax deductible donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 512 Rosamond, CA 93560 or you can visit us on our web site at www.halfwaytohome.net and make a donation through PayPal.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Come and see us every Saturday & Sunday, rain or shine from 1 to 5 PM at the Westside Palmdale Petsmart, located on 10th Street West, next to Trader Joe's, just south of Rancho Vista Blvd (Avenue P).

We are in need of volunteers to help out at our pet adoptions at PetSmart in west Palmdale on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 5pm. If interested, please visit us during our adoption hours at the west Palmdale PetSmart or call Suzanne at 661-824-4495.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption procedure includes an application to make sure the dog and the people will be a good match, an adoption fee to cover the cost for shots, spaying or neutering, and a home check. Halfway to Home dogs are adopted out to be part of the family, and many of them are housetrained, if not, we ask that you are willing to undertake that task. Our dogs are intended to be indoor/outdoor family members. Doggie doors are a plus.
