India was rescued form a life on the streets when NTCR received a call about a friendly neighborhood stray that was being mistreated by the local kids in the Malton area. Shortly after she arrived at the shelter she gave birth to 3 kittens and was immediately placed in foster care. India was an amazing mother to her kittens as she was very nurturing to babies and providing them with everything they needed. India is a beautiful, petite loving soul, with shiny silky black fur, who is extremely social and affectionate towards people. When she was in foster care she would follow her foster mom everywhere, happily climb on her shoulders to be carried around, loved to be picked up to be cuddled and preferred to sleep on the bed at night. India also has a very playful side in that she loves interactive cat toys and comes running at the crinkle of the treat bag! A smart girl, India comes when called and never seems to want to play the 'aloof kitty' card. Although sweet, she is not a pushover and will stand her ground against aggressor cats. India would do well alone or with other independent minded cats. If you want to give India the “furever” home and family she has yet to know in her life time, please fill out an adoption application and contact us.
