My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB March 20, 2016.

As the only surviving kitten from my litter, I have a pretty typical "only-child" personality. I'm definitely an alpha-male and have asserted my dominance over some of the adult cats in my household. I love to play with balls of yarn and to carry toys around in my mouth to show off how great I am. While I do like to pretend that I'm too cool to hang out with my humans, I will sneak into their bed at night for some cuddles. I'm also very good at being gentle with the tiny human that lives in my house.

I'm certainly a quirky fellow! Sometimes I get too excited about my food and eat it too quickly and then puke it up. I'm not opposed to then eating that puke either, if you'll let me. I've also gotten too rambunctious while playing and made myself pant. Basically I'm not super great at knowing my limits.

I was born in my foster home in March of this year and have been living there since with my mom, as well as three other adult cats. I would love to be part of your family!!

It is suspected that Ernest has mild cerebellar hypoplasia (https://lifewithchcats.com/what-is-cerebellar-hypoplasia/) because he has slight head tremors and is extra clumsy. See the link for more info, but know that he does not have a shortened life expectancy as a result of this condition and he does not let it affect his mobility whatsoever and even goes up and down the stairs. He requires no meds. The only issue we have found is that Ernest requires a bit of a special set up for his litterbox: he needs to be able to walk into the box via a cut out on the side, and he has a type of litter preference (Yesterday's News).

His foster family shares: "Ernest is a wild kitten that has not let his condition affect him at all. He's not aware that he's different and is incredibly playful. He would make a great addition to a house that has other cats with dominant personalities. Currently he is a bit of a bully to our gentle adult female cat."
