Elmer's Story...
Elmer is an adult Flemish Giant. He has the coolest ears. They flop madly when he runs and spins out. He is a big boy; close to 19 pounds and full of confidence. He took one look at the girls in his foster home and began to groom himself vigorously then flopped so the they could better appreciate his gorgeousness. He comes running to get his shoulders and ears massaged. He, like most rabbits, finds it uncomfortable to be held and would rather have his paws on the ground or on the couch. He is a very good snuggle buddy and enjoys investigating all corners of the house before settling in for a movie.

Elmer's adoption fee is $75. For more information on adopting Elmer or any West Michigan Critter Haven foster please contact us. Adopters must be at least 18 years old.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elmer, a Grand Rapids Flemish Giant was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flemish Giant for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Flemish Giant from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flemish Giant breeders who help with Flemish Giant rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
