Pixie's Story...
Pixie is about 17 weeks old and weighs about 7 pounds and was surrendered to our rescue by owners who could no longer care for her. She is a very sweet girl who is currently in our PADDLE Program (Prisoners And Dogs Developing Life Experiences) in a jail in West TN. Pixie is living 24/7 with a female inmate who is working on training her. The dogs in this program turn out to be extremely socialized because the inmates and guards and all other personnel play with them all the time! Pixie is in the program with younger puppies as well as an older dog who was also surrendered with her (Sanchez). If you'd like to adopt Pixie please visit our website at www.goofyfootrescue.org and fill out an online application. Pixie is currently in West TN but will be transported once her adoption is finalized.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixie, a Allentown Chihuahua/Rat Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier for sale in Allentown, or seeking a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier puppy from a breeder in Allentown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Allentown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Allentown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Rat Terrier breeders who help with Chihuahua/Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Allentown paves the way for another one to be saved.
