My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Nevaeh! Nevaeh spells Heaven backwards....We call her Vaeh for short. This little girl is extra special to our rescue. When we pulled her from a kill shelter she was barely alive. Her body had all but given up. She could no longer stand she was so weak. We rushed her immediately to the vet where it was realized she had parvovirus amongst other things. Thankfully we reached her just in time and Nevaeh completely recovered from this horrible, preventable disease. Sadly before we rescued Nevaeh, she had never had a vaccination or the best of life. That was all going to change for her now. We vowed to make sure she would only know love and family for the rest of her life. Neveah is 3 years old now and she has been with our rescue for a year. We are only just now making Nevaeh available for adoption because we wanted to make sure she was completely healthy and ready for her new family. You see, not only did Nevaeh have parvo but she had been caught in a trap at some point in her first 2 years of life. She bears a scar across her entire foot. She limped and favored this leg for a long time and we had thought she would have to have her leg amputated or extensive surgery to repair the damage from being trapped. This was probably intentional by her previous owner which obviously abused and neglected her. Since being in our care, Dr. Abi, our vet, has kept a close eye on Nevaeh. We were thrilled to hear that Dr. Abi recommended we do nothing to Neveah's leg as she seems to be doing amazingly well. She no longer limps and gets around without any issues. Other that the scar, Neveah is perfect.....as perfect as a rescue dog could be. Of course Neveah will never be one for jogging or going on strenuous hikes. She is more a home body and loves relaxing and playing close to home. We all adore her and know there is a family that could give her all the love and attention she deserves. In rescue, we have so many dogs come and go that its hard to give them all the attention they need and deserve. We also know once Nevaeh is placed in the perfect forever home we will be able to save another dog in need. The cycle is endless but the reward is great. Saving lives is what we do.

Nevaeh's birthday is estimated to be 06/25/2013. She loves to be around other dogs of all sizes. She plays with a 4 lb chihuahua to a 70 lb coonhound. She is as gentle as a lamb and loves everyone. She loves children too. Neveah loves to be close and gives great kisses. She will walk up to you and place her head on your lap so you will pet her. All this girl needs is love. Like I stated above, her life before she entered our rescue was bad. We cannot begin to think about the abuse she endured. She is jumpy at times when you make sudden movements. This is most likely due to being hit by her previous human. It is heartbreaking to even think about. Nevaeh is the most loving little girl despite her horrid past. She now knows she is safe and loved. It is our job now to find her the perfect forever family. Could you possibly be the family for Nevaeh?

Nevaeh is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and on monthly preventatives. We think she is shepherd/hound mix. She has a smile that is sure to melt your heart. She loves treats. She loves to curl up on the bed near you and sleep. She will be waiting for you to wake in the morning with a kiss. She walks out and stares at the pool daily but has yet to go for a swim. I think she just enjoys the view. She is housetrained. We think she will do well in a home with another dog or dogs since she has not been alone in the past year. If you would like to know more about Nevaeh please contact us. Her adoption fee is $400.

*If you look at Nevaeh's back foot in the close up picture you will see her scar. I am also adding another YouTube video link here as well. You will have to copy and paste the link in your browser to view.
