Melina is secretive and always cautious, just like a secret agent on a mission. She is a member of PAWS's shy cat club. She is like a spy observing every kitty and human around her taking note of who she can trust. Melina has found a small group of kitty friends that she will snuggle with which is helping her learn that she doesn’t have to brave this big world on her own. The kitties have been telling her how wonderful humans are. When a human is feeding the kitties, she will slip up to them without notice. Ever so careful and quiet. When they go to pet her, she will nudge them cautiously as if to say, “Please understand I love the affection, but am still learning to trust, be patient with me.” She is not sure how she arrived at this strange location with all these other kitties and strange humans. Melina would much prefer to be back in a home where life is calm and quiet. She misses having a family. She is learning to trust again, and wants so badly to give love and affection to the right family. She knows there is a calm home out there waiting for her. Melina has a "tipped ear," due to a mix-up at the vet when she was spayed, but it does not hurt her good calico looks at all. It just gives her even more character and adds to her secret agent persona.
As with all PAWS cats, this kitty is spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, treatments, and FIV/FELV tested negative. If interested, please submit and easy on-line application on www.pawsofhertfordcounty.org.
