Hey...Buddha. Yeah, that's my name. I've been working on my genealogy and discovered I descend from Mastiffs and French Mastiffs. For a dog, that's like being crowned royalty. But I heard somewhere back, there was some sort scandal, and now I'm almost half the size of a true, full grown male mastiff. I wonder what it would be like being a giant? Well for one, they could't get on any furniture right? They probably couldn't even sit on a man's lap! All the children would run away they'd be so scared, or maybe they'd just point and whisper. But me, I'm about 70 lbs and 4 years young. Wait Don't tell them...gosh you're gonna embarrass me. "Buddha just loves hanging out and is super low maintenance. He's soft and gentle and just a sweetheart". Ahhh, don't talk about me like I'm not right here. OK, that stuff may be true, but I want to make a point that I don't need a large yard at all and only need about 1 good walk a day. Everyone says I'm really well behaved and that's because I'm such a people pleaser. I get along with just about everything, dogs or people. And if you're looking at some space savings, I'm A-OK in my safe crate. I really am a most interesting dog; something different you don't see out there a whole lot. Come and meet me. I hope you pick me.

This poor boy has been bounced around from one home to another, living outside 24/7 until he landed in a kennel for about 3 years! Despite all that, he has a calm demeanor and is well behaved. Good natured, he is sociable and 'low maintenance' - loves being inside and just hanging out. He will make a great companion for someone who enjoys leisurely walks. About Poochmatch

About Our Rescue Group...

I became involved in animal rescue because of the overwhelming number of stray animals I observe in less affluent areas of Southern California. I do what I do because I enjoy connecting all the dots - full circle - in terms of rescuing dogs, getting them cleaned up, treated medically and then adopted.

Poochmatch is a small rescue group with half-a dozen volunteers. Since our founding in 2006, we have done over 2,400 dog adoptions. We are on track to do over 300 in 2016.

We'd love to have more assistance. We need help administratively from individuals with computers, digital cameras and marketing skills. Please see for more information.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Adoption events are generally held every Saturday at Petsmart in Yorba Linda (Savi Ranch) 5521 Mirage Street from noon to 4 pm. To confirm we will be holding an adoption event, call Lydia at 714-241-9765.

Our Adoption Process...

We do not have a facility. Our dogs are in foster homes with volunteers.

All prospective adopters must complete and adoption application. Upon receipt and review (usually within 24 hours), a mutually agreeable appointment date, time and place will be scheduled. Prospective adopters must be receptive to a home check, sign an adoption contract and provide an adoption donation sufficient to cover the cost of spay/neuter, vaccinations and a microchip. The adoption fee for young or adult dogs is generally $225 - $275. The adoption fee for puppies varies from $325 to $425. The adoption fee always includes the cost of spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo & Bordetella), De-worming and Fecal Testing.
