Missy's Story...
Missy is a lovely, senior Russian Blue mix. She was raised for more than half her life with another cat and with a small dog. At 11 years of age (her birthday is in June), she has lost her lifelong home because her owners moved out of the country and couldn't take her with them. She is now in a Dusty Paws foster home which houses other cats and also dogs, and is learning to adjust to her new surroundings.

Her first experience at a Dusty Paws foster showing was a little scary for her, not used to being in a cage with people looking at her. But in the foster home she is a happy cat. She is playful and enjoys being brushed.

Missy is hoping for a wonderful person to share her golden years with.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Missy, a Castro Valley Russian Blue cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Russian Blue for sale in Castro Valley, or seeking a Russian Blue cat from a breeder in Castro Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Castro Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Castro Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Russian Blue breeders who help with Russian Blue rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Castro Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
