Stitch! What a fun and sweet boy he is with his unique bowed front legs. It gives him lots of personality and doesn't stop his fun! This sweet boy has been through some tough times in his short life. He has struggled for a very long time at our shelter with gaining weight. The vets have worked tirelessly to diagnose his digestive issues so that his body can now start absorbing nutrients. We are able to finally have him on the right track!! After overcoming these struggles, he is FINALLY ready for adoption. He still has a little way to go, but he doesn't let it get him down! He needs a family that can work with him on socialization skills, since he's been so down and out, he is reluctant to trust other dogs just yet. He's waiting on someone to give him a chance at a happy ending!

*Safe Haven Dogs* “Safe Haven” classification refers to the dogs in our shelter that are of certain breeds and mixes such as American Pit bull Terrier, Staffordshire Terrier, Chow, Dogo Argentino, Rottweiler or Mastiff. We do not limit Safe Haven dogs to just these breeds, but these are some of the most common breeds we see.
In order to ensure the safety of our animals, we require a more extensive adoption process for this group. Some of these breeds are at risk of being used as fighting dog or bait dogs. Sometimes people adopt these breeds for unethical reasons, and not as a family member. This process ensures that these dogs go to homes where they will be loved and cared for as a family member.
