Hester's Story...
Hester was lucky enough to be born in an Adopt-A-Pet foster home with her 4 siblings. Her mom was a friendly stray who already made her way into someone’s heart and has already been adopted! Hester is also known at her foster home as ‘Professor Hester’ as she has patches of color on her elbows. It’s theorized that Hester is the intellectual of the litter as she was the first to hit all the mile-markers of kitten development: first to open her eyes and first to figure out how to escape the whelping box. She’s full of life, energy and love, and can’t wait to find her forever home.

Being your typical playful kitten, Hester needs to have another kitten (perhaps one of her siblings), or a friendly young cat at home to play and snuggle with. Hester and her siblings are not shy at all and will transition easily into your home :).

Behaviorally and socially, it’s best to adopt kittens in pairs, or into a home with a playful cat. Kittens really need a playmate in their forever home…and then they can get to play, and snuggle while you're not home.

If you are only interested in adopting a single kitten, and you’re home most of the day, and able to spend interactive time with a kitten, we will consider adopting out a kitten older than 4 months. Each foster home knows the kitten’s personalities best, and we follow their recommendations for single placements.

Hester's ACTUAL date of birth is 5/2/16. Her adoption fee of $135 includes her vet exam, FVRCP vaccinations, FIV & Feline Leukemia testing (neg), routine deworming, flea control, microchip and spay.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hester, a Mt. Prospect Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Mt. Prospect, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Mt. Prospect.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mt. Prospect already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mt. Prospect breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mt. Prospect paves the way for another one to be saved.
