Kat's Story...
Hi, my name is Kat and I am 6 months old. I am a Border Collie/Lab mix. I was found living under a trailer with another one of my family members. I don’t know why we were living under there but that’s a scary place for a little girl to live; an even scarier place is a kill shelter. That’s where Animal Control brought us too but thankfully someone saw our cute pictures and saved us. Now we are living in a foster home where we get to play and not be scared anymore. I spend my day playing which I like to do. It’s just me and the other little dog that looks just like me. I think we are related but I don’t know how. There are also lots & lots of cats that live here too. They are also foster cats and I don’t mind the cats. I don’t chase them. I rather play with the puppy girl or my toys. I am learning my potty training and being a good girl and learning some commands. I’m learning how to SIT & STAY. I like the cookies I get for when I do my commands. I hear my foster Mom say this word called “forever home”. I think that is a good thing. It means I get a family that is going to love me forever & forever. But that means you have to come meet me first. So can you do that? Can you fill out an application and come meet me? I am really cute. I am all black except with a little bit of white on paws, chest & nose I’m also a quiet girl that doesn’t bark much – not like the other puppy in the house. I’m a real sweet girl that is so grateful to not be sleeping under that trailer anymore but in a nice comfy bed. I really would like to be sleeping in your arms, though. Hope you can call soon! Kisses, Kat.

Kat is located in her foster home in McCullum Lake. Please fill out an adoption application at: www.illinoisanimalrescue.org . Please visit our website to view our adoption process and our adoption fees.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kat, a Palatine Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Palatine, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Palatine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palatine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palatine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palatine paves the way for another one to be saved.
