Pretty Mya is a sweet dog who was found on the streets of Chicago and has spent the last year in foster homes while looking for her forever home. She deserves a second chance and is looking for a family that will help her to become the best dog that she can be! This energetic young girl is about 2 years old and loves to play! A home with an experienced family that can devote time for additional training would be best for her. Mya is a sweet girl and loves to cuddle after she gets worn out which takes a lot right now. She is house trained and spayed and is coming along well with basic commands (sit, stay and come). Mya will only be placed into a forever home that is located within 1.5 hours of Lake & McHenry Counties in Illinois...(sorry, NO exceptions).** If you are interested in adopting Mya, please visit and fill out an application. Thank you for your interest!

About A & S Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

A & S Rescue is a small rescue group dedicated to finding permanent, loving homes for American Staffordshire and American Pit Bull Terriers. Our dogs live in foster homes, where volunteers evaluate the dog's temperament and work on basic obedience and manners. We maintain lifelong contact with all of our adopters and encourage them to contact us for updates or questions. This ensures a great match for both the dog and the family.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of the A & S Rescue dogs reside with foster families, so introductions are made at the applicant's home, after reference and home checks have been completed. We welcome inquires via email or phone to discuss what dogs are avaialable at the time. We also encourage potential adopters to meet as many dogs as possible to get a feel for what we have to offer.

Our Adoption Process...

Upon receipt of our application, a volunteer from our rescue will contact the potential adopter. We will perform a home check and meet all members of the adopting family. If applicable, we will contact the applicant's veterinarian who has provided service to the family. If the applicant proves to be a great home, we arrange a meeting with the dog in which they are interested in adopting. Our adoption fees for puppies is $200 for dogs under 10 months, $175 for adults. All dogs will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption and the adoption cost for puppies will include age-appropriate vaccinations.
