My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jerry is a lovable, energetic, well-trained and playful, nine-year-old, 59-pound, male boxer / pit bull terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian.

Jerry is perfectly housebroken and non-destructive in the home. He is wonderful with people of all ages. He knows the commands sit, down paw, other paw, high-five and seal (you just have to see it!) He’s very gentle taking even the smallest treat from your fingers. He’ll also catch treats mid-air, one after another.

Jerry LOVES to swim in pools or lakes. He also loves to play ball.

Jerry was originally adopted from a shelter in Wisconsin. He had been a cruelty case after someone beat him with a metal pole. He has a scar on his leg and doesn’t appreciate being cornered. But, he is full of tail wags and kisses even with new people when he meets them.

Jerry is a very healthy senior; full of energy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly heartworm prevention as well as flea prevention. His adoption fee of $50 benefits rescued dogs. To meet and possibly adopt Jerry, please contact Kristina at msdemma@gmail.com or 847-533-9513.

He is currently living in Chicago’s Edison Park neighborhood. Jerry has never lived with a cat or other small animal. He gets along with female dogs, however he does not get along with other male dogs. He is looking for a quiet home where he doesn’t have to interact with male dogs. Ideally, he would be best as the one and only pet in the home to soak up all the love and attention in his golden years.
