JACOB IS A COURTESY LISTING WHO LIVES WITH HIS OWNER IN GEORGETOWN, KENTUCKY. CBBCR OFFERS COURTESY LISTINGS AS A COMMUNITY SERVICE. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS DOG, PLEASE CONTACT THE OWNER DIRECTLY.
Neutered male border collie, estimated age of seven years. Jacob has border collie quirks, like a herding instinct and a drive to work. He is actually NOT very high energy, but he does need engagement. He has an old injury that keeps him from being able to do intense exercise, but he's good for 5-mile walks and games of fetch. He is smart, crate and housebroken (no accidents, ever). He knows the difference between dog toys and human belongings. If you put your dinner plate on the coffee table he won't touch it. He can be shy and cautious, and therefore needs an owner savvy enough to read body language to keep from inadvertently pushing past his comfort zone. He would do best in a home with no other pets (or pets who would be able to roll with his herding instinct). He is good with sit, stay, lie down, freeze, wait, leave it, find it, bring it. (His recall amidst distractions needs more work.) Jacob's life before age one is unknown, but he has received consistent veterinary care and attended numerous training classes over the last six years. Jacob is being surrendered through no fault of his own, his surrendering owners are no longer able to keep up with the needs of a border collie and think it is unfair to keep him when there is likely a more suitable home.
