Luna is a 2 year old beautiful Blue Pitbull. She is a total people dog and loves kids. She would prefer to be an only pet right now, as she is working on her social skills. She does not like cats or small animals. Luna is currently being fostered by the trainer and owner of The Loyal Canine Inc She has been working on socialization, manners on leash, crate training, walks on the treadmill, and basic obedience and is doing great! Luna is a pretty lazy gal and loves squishy dog beds. She has her puppy like moments as well and loves to play and roll around on the grass.

Luna has severe allergies that were not previously taken care of. We now are working through them but it will be an on going process and she is on a strict diet.

Luna is looking for a family who will give her the attention she deserves. Someone patient, a good leader, and is willing to work on her allergies. She is worth it!! She loves her people and really wants to please. She loves walks and going out and about with you to explore the world. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchiped. Included in her adoption fee is her Free initial go home training to make sure she gets off to the right start in her forever home. About Community Animal Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation

Come Meet Our Pets...

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

Our Adoption Process...

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at, email or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.
