Name: Cassidy and Nora
Born:  March 2016
Sex:   Females
Description: Black and White/Black

CASSIDY & NORA are beautiful kitties - one a tuxedo, the other solid black. Their manners are impeccable. When their foster family enters the room they run to greet them 'chatting.' Both are people-oriented kittens.

CASSIDY (black/white tuxedo) is a little more reserved than her sister and has fancy white markings on her paws that look like saddle shoes. She doesn't love to be held for long periods of time but her good manners and breeding do not allow her to fuss or fight to get down. Cassidy just sits in your arms until a reasonable time has elapsed, then daintily jumps down.

NORA (black) likes to engage in conversation and drape herself around your neck when you are sitting down. She also loves to be held and purrs loudly whenever she is petted.

These two are inseparable and must be adopted together. When one leaves the room, the other one calls to her until the girls are reunited. They have been exposed to adult cats, and are best suited for a home with older children/adults in a quiet to moderately active household.

These girls were rescued from outdoors as tiny babies and have transformed into lovely ladies.

About SPCA of Northern Virginia

About Our Rescue Group...

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Northern Virginia is a non-profit, all-volunteer, private organization established by local concerned citizens to rescue domestic animals from cruelty, neglect, and abandonment. We receive all our funding from membership dues, donations, and fundraising events. We are always striving to enlarge our animal rescue operations and expand our services to the community. Our voluntary Board of Directors, committee members, and volunteers are responsible for all SPCA activities. We do not have a shelter facility, and depend on foster parents to care for domestic animals until adoption.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our dogs are available to meet at twice monthly adoption events in Fairfax, VA.

Our cats are available to meet you in their foster homes
by appointment weeknights or weekends.

Our Adoption Process...

Please read our cat adoption guidelines (at We put a lot of financial and emotional support into our cats and want them placed in homes where they will be members of the family for the rest of their lives. Indoor cats, with care, can live up to 20 years. Not everyone agrees with all of our guidelines. Please read our explanations and talk to our volunteers. If you disagree with us, we suggest you adopt a cat from a different source such as a local shelter. When you adopt a cat from us, you must sign a legal contract stating that you will comply with our guidelines. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat and $250 for two.

For those interested in cat adoptions, all potential adopters must read our adoption guidelines (available on our website at, then meet the cat in person either at an Adoption Fair or in their foster home. We take applications only after you've met the cat and we both feel it's a good match.

All adopters interested in adopting a dog must meet the dog in person, and submit an application. A housecheck is done, and references are checked. If approved, the dog will be placed in the home for a two-week trial period, to make sure that it is a good "fit" for both people and dog. If it is, the adoption is finalized and the adoption fee is paid. We do not adopt outside of the Washington DC metro area.
