This is Jewel. She is a beautiful short-haired tortie who is probably about 7 years old. Jewel is a tiny little girl, only weighing around 7 pounds. She has a beautiful shiny coat and huge eyes.
The pictures show Jewel in her favorite spot, looking out the window and watching the action outside. She is sweet and lovable, but hates to have her picture taken. These don’t do her justice.
Jewel loves attention. She will rub against your legs and meow when she is looking for some loving. She can be very talkative. She is a little shy around new people at first, but comes around quickly. She prefers to come to you when she wants to be petted, but will allow you to pick her up and hold her.
Jewel is not a dominate cat. She is easily intimidated and would be best in a quiet home with only one or two other animals. She does not socialize with the other cats in the foster home and tends to growl at them when she feels they have invaded her space. But she loves her humans and is a very good girl!
She is used to dogs and just tolerates them. Again, since she is timid, if a dog were to get in her face she would take off in a hurry and would not do well in a home with a dog that wants to chase her. I don’t think she would be good with small children at first. She might eventually come around to kids that are very calm and gentle with her.
Jewel was adopted at one time, but the adopter became sick and had to return her. So once again she is looking for her furever home. Jewel’s adoption fee is $75. That includes testing (feline leukemia and FIV--both negative), spaying, microchipping, and she is up-to-date on shots.

About St. Louis Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

St. Louis Pet Rescue is a non-profit rescue group focusing on saving pets from local animal control facilities and other neglect situations.

We do not have a facility. All of the pets we rescue are in loving foster homes. Foster homes provide love, care training, and, if needed, rehabilitation to the pets. This also allows the pet to be more adjusted when they enter their forever home since they are used to a home environment (versus a kennel at the pound).
