Riley's Story...
My name is Riley - I have been at the shelter for a long time. My sister's DNA test said I was a Plott Hound/Bloodhound mix with a few other breeds mixed in. I love other dogs and like to play, I am rather submissive, but who cares. I was in a home for a short time, but they returned me to the shelter and said the neighbors didn't like me. I was very sad. My friends said they didn't introduce me appropriately. I like to stand behind my friends until I trust new people, but I am getting much better. I like most kids, but older kids would be my pick. I like to go to the dog park and meet new buddies and I love to ride in the car. I am pretty clean in my kennel, but sometimes it is hard to wait for my walkers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Riley, a Red Oak Plott Hound/Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Plott Hound/Bloodhound for sale in Red Oak, or seeking a Plott Hound/Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Red Oak.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Red Oak already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Red Oak breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Plott Hound/Bloodhound breeders who help with Plott Hound/Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Red Oak paves the way for another one to be saved.
