My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated 8/19/08..... Zena has completed all of her medication and is now ready for adoption. We still have to have her spayed, but she is on the top of our list to go in soon.

Zena is a ‘honey’ for sure! She is the perfect puppy! A beautiful blue color and a wonderful personality to match. At 3 months of age, she rarely (if ever) has accidents in the house with her potty training. She walks well on a leash, knows basic commands, is crate trained and looooves to be with her ‘people’ ! She is quite and snuggly when you want to chill out and relax or ready for a short romp outside to burn some energy. However, she is not a ‘ball of energy’ like most puppies, a short play period outside suits her well, then she is off to have a nap in the sun! Too much exercise makes one a bit tuckered out! Especially swimming which is one of her favorite past times! Zena was ‘owner surrendered’ when she was taken to a local clinic and diagnosed with parvo. After undergoing the treatments for parvo, the clinic called on AWOL to help Zena to find her new home! She is truly a joy to have. Such and easy going, happy puppy and so easy to care for. She is on treatment for at least another 2 – 3 weeks then she will be spayed. Since she was so ‘weak’ from the parvo, we wanted to wait till she was back on her feet before we had her spayed. She should be ready for her new home in about a month, give or take, depending on her recovery time.

A.W.O.L. Rescue is located on the outskirts of Dallas Texas. The dogs/puppies were pulled from shelters in surrounding areas that were due to be euthanized had we not taken them in. It is our mission to place all of our ‘rescues’ with sound, loving homes. There will be an adoption application which must be completed and approved before adoptions are final. All of A.W.O.L’s rescues are fully vetted before adoptions. All dogs/puppies will be current on shots, worming and will be spayed/neutered before going to their forever homes.

Please look at all of our 'babies' and see if there isn't one you fall in love with.
