My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please don't hold my scar against me? We think of it as a beauty mark. Maycie is a delightful 7 year old girl who weighs a couple ounces over 10 lbs. She is a happy girl who likes toys and wants to be in the same room with you. She LOVES to play ball. She's not overly cuddly or kissey, but she does love to sit on your lap and be petted. In face, she'll shove her nose under your hand to remind you to pet her. She knows Sit, Stay, Down, Come, Roll Over, and Spin. She's very smart and has even been trained to ring a bell by the door when she needs to go out.

Maycie says, "Please don't hold my scar against me. I made a mistake and tried to catch a car. The car won."

That was 6 years ago. Maycie had bone injuries, but you'd never know it the way she runs and jumps. Severe road-rash damaged the hair folicles on her back, so she has a scar. Fortunately, she's good with sweaters, shirts, and dresses. So if you love to be loved, and buy pretty girl-dog clothes, Maycie is for you.

Maycie would prefer a home where she is an only dog, but she's good with other well mannered dogs as well. She doesn't seem to like cats very much. She is wary of strangers, so slow introductions work best. A retired family or someone who works at home would be a wonderful home for Maycie.
