  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
We first met Fritz in January at the Keller regional shelter. He had been transferred in from another shelter and we're not quite sure how long he spent there. Staff knew he was a sweet dog and were determined to find him a great home. However, whenever people came to visit he would usually be so excited that he would run around in circles for a while then, happy to be outdoors, he would spend his time checking out all the new smells in the yard. He didn't seem to realize that if he just worked his charms on them, he might find a great home! Members of staff would sometimes take him home for a break over the weekend but realized that his best chance of finding a home would be having him on show in the shelter. Last week our group decided it was time for Fritz to experience living in a loving home and thanks to a wonderful animal lover who offered to foster him, he left the shelter on Friday. He is having the time of his life right now bonding with his foster family and their Chihuahua. Fritz gets along well with other dogs but tends to chase cats. He is a little overweight but this is no doubt due to the many hours he has spent in shelters. We are hoping that we can help turn this little guy's life around. He has waited for so long and deserves a break!

About Animal Advocates of North Texas

About Our Rescue Group...

We assist shelters and rescue groups and find homes for their adoptable pets.
We take professional photos, write bios and post to adoption websites for several rescue groups.
We also provide funds for medical care, foster animals and find foster families for rescue groups. We organize adoption events and give presentations to schools on the importance of spaying /neutering and vaccinating animals.
For the last two years, we have been working with the town of Keller to improve conditions at the shelter. We have also assisted some of their animals in need of medical care.
We devote many hours to getting animals out of shelters and into foster and permanent homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

As we are not a rescue group per se we do not have animals available for adoption. We do, however, assist shelters and rescue groups organize adoption events. The Humane Society of North Texas will soon be opening a branch in Keller and we will once again be collaborating with them on events in the next few weeks.
We cross-post animals on Petfinder for individuals, shelters and rescue groups.
We also have a Facebook page, Animal Advocates of North Texas.
