Summer's Story...
Hi, I’m Summer, a gorgeous orange-and-brown tabby girl with sad, soulful eyes. I was born outside and lived with a group of cats until I was about eight months old. While I was outside I became pregnant with my first litter of kittens. Thankfully, I was rescued and brought into foster care. At first I was shy, but I soon learned that humans meant good things to eat and a gentle scratch under the chin.

Just when it seemed like things were turning around, I went into labor…but it didn’t go well. I had to have an emergency C-section, and the vets feared that I might lose all of my kittens. And then, against all odds, three tiny miracles were born.

Splash was the smallest and weakest of my three kittens. I took extra special care of Splash and was very protective of her. I groomed her and cuddled her and always made sure she got enough to eat.

Eventually, my kittens grew up, and when Splash’s two siblings were adopted together, I grew even more attached to little Splash. We love to snuggle and groom each other, and we thrive with each other's company.

Our remarkable story is now missing just one thing: our forever home together.

Once you give me a chance to get comfortable with my surroundings, I'm a very sweet girl and will come up to you meowing for attention and rolling over to show my belly. I just know there is a person out there that will be touched by our story and see how much we have to offer.

Please apply online and ask my foster mom Kelsey all about me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Summer, a Richmond Calico cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Calico cat from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
