The Helotes Humane Society is a non profit organization dedicated to placing unwanted animals in loving homes. Remember, don't shop, adopt!

Diego was found as a stray and picked up by good  Samaritans . He had what appeared to be a large wound on his side. Upon further examination it was determined to be a skin cancer lesion. It was successfully removed and Diego recovered at the Helotes Humane Society. He is now completely healed and ready for adoption. Diego likes to be the leader of the pack. He would do best as the only dog, no kids and no cats!  He would make a good "indoor/outdoor" dog as he does enjoy the company of his people but also enjoys yard time. He would make a great pet for a retired person or someone who is home all the time. If you are looking for an easy going companion who just wants a quiet place to chill, Diego is your boy.

All of our animals receive vaccinations, testing and altering appropriate for their age. All pets will be microchipped prior to placement. The pet overpopulation problem has reached a crisis stage. We will use all of our resources to spay and neuter all pets in our care.
