Ava's Story...
ABOUT ADORABLE AVA
Ava is still waiting!

While she's been very well cared for at the Cranston Animal Shelter for the last 6 months, she'd much? rather? prefer a home and family to call her own. Ava would do best with an active family who would continue her training. She has mastered many commands; sit, down, stay, look & leave it. She would be a great dog to take through a training class to help establish a bond with her new owner. Through Handsome Dan's Rescue's Take My Lead program, Ava and her new family can attend Outbound Hound's Pits & Pals C.L.A.S.S. free of charge.

Ava is a volunteer favorite and loves her time outside of the kennel running, playing & basking in the sun. She can often be seen rolling in the grass, seeking belly rubs and sitting politely for treats.

Although Ava does need to be the only pet in the home, she has such a big personality and so much love to share, she is all you will need!

Please contact Ava's enrichment specialist, Pam for more information: paaamela.b@gmail.com

Ava is part of the Handsome Dan's Rescue Shelter Dog Enrichment Program where she is getting training and socialization while at Cranston Shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ava, a Cranston Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Cranston, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Cranston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cranston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cranston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cranston paves the way for another one to be saved.
